Gamse Has Got You Covered: New Nutrition Fact Labels to Stay Compliant
By now, you have probably seen the news that the FDA has extended the date to 2020 and 2021 for food manufacturers to make the required changes to their Nutrition Fact labels. It’s important to be label compliant, so you don’t violate the new rules. You would hate for your product to not make it to the shelves, or worse taken off the shelves, because of something that could have been prevented.
The new labels that need to be printed must include new rules, such as larger font for the serving sizes and calories, as well as including added sugars underneath the total sugars. To know when your business needs to make the necessary label changes to stay FDA compliant, it is all in the sales: Food and beverage companies that make more than $10 million in annual sales have until January 1, 2020 and those with less have an extra year until January 1, 2021. Single-ingredient companies, such as makers of maple syrup have until July 1, 2021.
The summer of 2019 is the best time to make those changes, while it is in the media and on your mind to avoid any problems in the future. Have a smaller product and not sure how to fit the new rules onto a larger Nutrition Facts label? Gamse has the technology and expertise to make even the oddest shaped packaging FDA approved.
You shouldn’t have to worry about complying with new rules when you have great products to create. You worry about creating a great product, use Gamse for your packaging Nutrition Fact label needs.
